‘Trends, Talks, Touchpoints’ by Möbel Kultur *
I had the honour of being present at the BDI during the Brussels furniture fair. There, I was interviewed by Michael Schlenke, editor of the German magazine Möbel Kultur. We had a pleasant conversation, and I managed to move him with my chair, both literally and figuratively. In his article, he wrote the following about the TOPPLEchair:
‘Lotte Cobbaert made a particularly strong impression with her solid wood rocking chair, the Topple Chair, which integrates the need for movement into everyday sitting. Originally designed for children who fidget restlessly in their chairs during lessons, the universally applicable chair also attracted interest from retailers.
Her next goal: series production from recycled plastic. ‘That would make the chair even lighter, cheaper and easier to maintain – and also make it attractive for schools, offices and outdoor areas,’ explained young designer Cobbaert.’
